I've been seeing these adorable birthday balloons popping up everywhere, and I just had to make some! For under $4.00, I am super excited to say that I now have 24 birthday treats ready for my firsties this year! I cannot wait to make them a part of our birthday ritual! Here is a picture of them hanging out in the sunshine...
And here is a link to the balloons if you'd like to download them for free! All you do is print, tape onto some Krazy Straws, and prepare to celebrate!
Other than crafting and playing with my silly girl, I've been busy working on a new unit for Back to School, and I'm soooo excited to finally reveal it to you, plus share a freebie! I absolutely LOVE using Kevin Henkes' books at the beginning of the year because they are perfect for helping students get to know one another and learn about the basics of school life. Plus, the characters are just too cute! So, here is my newest unit, Back to School with Kevin Henkes & Friends: A Literacy and Friendship Unit Featuring Lilly, Chrysanthemum, and Wemberly! If you'd like a FREE Movie Star Sunglasses Reading and Writing the Room activity from the unit, just click the pictures below to go to my TPT store and click on the "Download Preview" button! I hope you like it! I cannot wait to use it with my kiddos this fall!

I did the balloons last year & I LOVE what you did with yours. Thank you so much for sharing them with us. Your new Back to School unit looks great too. I'm going to add it to my wishlist!

Thanks for the cute birthday balloons! I just finished making mine last night. And I found the cutest tin (50c)at Goodwill (girls, if you don't shop there you are missin' out!). It has penguins carrying b-day balloons! I'm going to get floral foam for the bottom and arrange the balloons in it. Can't wait to add it to my room for this year. Thanks again for sharing...off to buy the Henkes Unit...soo fun :D
ReplyDeleteI love your birthday balloons! I am printing them off now! I will be teaching 2nd grade, so the Kevin Henkes unit will not work out for me unfortunately! However, I was wondering where you get your Kevin Henkes character clip art? I love them!!!! Thanks!

Ashley, I got the clipart from 3am Teacher, but unfortunately, they are not offered for sale anymore. I actually just found out that this clipart (and other clipart that mimics book illustrations) violated the original illustrator's copyright, so I chose to remove it from my unit and replace it with more generic cute mice. Sorry for the bad news! :)
DeleteSo, so cute! Where did you get those giant crazy straws? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOk I found the straws, but one more question.... how did you print yours big?? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLacee, the straws are regular-sized crazy straws that I found at Hobby Lobby. I think the picture just made them look giant--sorry! :)
DeleteThank you for the balloon freebie. Instead of my traditional birthday pencils (which I despise b/c they never sharpen!) I'm going to try out your cute straw idea this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks again,
Katie
